Single Source and Dairystix in marketing link up

Single Source, which manufactures single serve portions for the foodservice sector, has taken a 50 per cent stakeholding in Dairystix Ltd.

Dairystix is the creator of the 'milk in a stick' hospitality product and both they and Single Source see the joint venture as significantly broadening the market opportunity for Dairystix.

Similar to the established sugar and coffee 'stick' portion concept, Dairystix is said to offer both commercial and environmental advantages over the traditional 'jigger' packaging, which it is designed to replace.

Neil Goodwin, Commercial Director of Single Source says that each stick occupies up to 40 per cent less space than a jigger and, once emptied, leaves up to 50 per cent less packaging weight to be disposed of.

Dairystix is currently available in farm assured fresh (ESL) and UHT formats in both semi-skimmed and whole milk. Each 12ml stick contains additive-free pure milk supplied exclusively by UK farms.

The sticks come in cases of 200 units and join a range of products from Single Source which includes sugar, sweetener, salt, pepper, coffee, chocolate and whitener.
